    Each of the nine (9) research teams that comprise the Bright Minds, Fresh Ideas Student Think Tank initiative, generously sponsored by CenterState Bank, in partnership with Career Source Central Florida and Orange County Public Schools, and powered by Florida Prosperity Partnership, will share the insights they gathered during their summer of research on the following topics:

    - Transportation in Florida
    - VITA Marketing and Promotion
    - How Youth Can Be Leaders In Financial Capability 
    - Eating Healthy on a Low Budget
    - Barriers to Micro-Enterprise Funding
    - Alternatives to Alternative Financial Services
    - Building Financial Literacy for Youth
    - Financial Inclusion for People with Disabilities 
    - "Edutainment" as Encouragement for Building Financial Literacy and Capability 

    Many dignitaries will be present for this event, as well as family members and friends of the BMFI Student Researchers.  All are invited to be there to support the next generation as these "Bright Minds" share their "Fresh Ideas!"

    Identity Theft is rampant in the 21st century.  What can be done to thwart it?  

    Join Juan Omar Matos, Community Development Officer of Guidewell Financial Solutions, as he explores:

    - The definition for Identity Theft, and describes what an Identity Thief is looking for

    - Where an impersonator gets your information

    - Ways to protect yourself from Identity Theft

    - Steps to take if you are the victim of Identify Theft 

    Juan “Omar” Matos has been educating and empowering borrowers in the Tampa, Orlando and Volusia markets for over the past 10 years.  Omar has been conducting the First-Time Homebuyer Workshop for various non-profits throughout Central Florida and Lakeland, Florida.  

    Juan Omar Matos holds an M.B.A. from Nova Southeastern University with a specialty in International Business, and is currently a member of The National Financial Education Council for Personal Finance Speakers Association, and a Financial Educator, where he has conducted Financial Literacy seminars for prestigious institutions such as Disney, Universal of Florida, Staples, Humana, Orange County Public Schools and the Department of Defense.

    Juan is committed to creating awareness about the need for financial literacy and education in our communities.  His dream is to encourage families and our communities to obtain the knowledge and importance of savings and setting financial goals for homeownership.
